Policy Change - as passed at the AGMWynyard Minor Hockey's existing policy
POLICY: Team Fundraising, Tournament Fees, Gate Fees, 50/50 Sales has been revised to reflect the motion that was passed at last night's AGM. The section of the policy that has been revised can be found below... changes have been highlighted.
POLICY: Team Fundraising, Tournament Fees, Gate Fees, 50/50 Sales
Fundraising:
- Canvassing of businesses by individual teams is not permitted. Wynyard Minor Hockey Day coordinators only will canvass for Minor Hockey Day.
- Individual teams’ tournaments provide an opportunity to fundraise. Any “profit” generated through a team’s tournament is 100% that team’s profit.
- No canvassing of businesses is permitted for tournaments
- No food (homemade baking, etc.) and/or drinks can be sold during the season.
Tournaments/Tournament Fees:
- Tournament dates will be set by Wynyard Minor Hockey at the pre-season coaches’ meeting.
- No admittance fee will be charged at the door for tournaments.
- No food (homemade baking, etc.) and/or drinks can be sold during tournaments.
- Teams are permitted to charge a tournament entry fee and raise funds through raffles, 50/50 sales, etc. at their discretion:
- $500 must be submitted to Wynyard Minor Hockey to cover the cost of tournament game officials and ice time
- The exception to this is the Initiation Program where the team shall retain all profit from the tournament. The $500 reimbursement is not required.
- All other profits from tournaments are the property of the team
- All prizes and awards for a tournament must be covered by the team through their team funds
Gate Fees:
- Gate fees will be charged for all Wynyard Minor Hockey games (regular season, playoffs, provincials)
- The WMH Treasurer will oversee the administration of all gate fees and receipts
- Each team shall assign someone to administer the duties of the gate:
- Liaising with the WMH Treasurer, scheduling, depositing gate fees on behalf of WMH, and other duties as assigned by the Treasurer
- It is the responsibility of each team to provide someone to work at the gate for each home game and to ensure that all patrons have paid an admission fee.
- In order to maintain the integrity of gate collection and WMH finances, gate workers are required to be “on duty” a minimum of 1 hour prior to the scheduled game time.
- If a team is not fulfilling its duties as outlined above, the WMH executive maintains the ability to fine the team at the discretion of the executive
- This fine shall be paid out of 50/50 profits collected by the team
- Gate fees will be established by the Wynyard Minor Hockey executive
- Season passes will be made available at a cost established by the Wynyard Minor Hockey executive
- Seasons passes are valid for regular season games only. Season passes are not valid for league playoff or provincial games.
50/50 Sales:
- All profit from the sale of 50/50 tickets is the property of the selling team
- Wynyard Minor Hockey will supply 1 roll of tickets to each team at the beginning of each season. All other tickets are to be purchased by individual teams at the team’s expense.
- Any unused 50/50 money will be donated to the Wynyard Arena Fund by each team on a year-to-year basis.
