Wynyard Minor Hockey Days prove to be a HUGE success again this year

2016-12-11

Wynyard Minor Hockey Days were held on December 9-10, 2016.

Another edition of the now famous Wynyard Minor Hockey Days is now in the books, and, again this year, the event did not disappoint.  The days saw a total of 8 games played, numerous, coaches, fans, officials, and, of course, players involved; and, to top it all off, several amazing prizes were handed out, and a great deal of money was raised for the Wynyard Minor Hockey organization.  All money raised will go directly to benefit the players of WMH.

Minor Hockey Day chairperson, Chris Blyth, said it best:

"What a day yesterday!  Wynyard, you are a great, great community!  Minor Hockey Day is yet another display of this town's generosity and loyalty.  Wynyard loves hockey and kids!  Again, much appreciation to the establishments and individuals who contributed to the MHD tournament.  Big or small, each and every donation renders to the success of the weeked.

Thanks so much to the MHD committee (Alana Melsted, Tara Lindal, Dana Stephanson, and Di Heuchert) for all of your hard work!!  We make a great team!"

Major prize winners for the day were:

Thirty-one package - Marissa Faye
PS4 - Bryan Zulak
Skull Candy Package - Kyle Lalach

Saskatoon Blades Package - Hayden Anthony Hilts
Rush Package - Kayan Erickson
Cash Package - James Neal

On behalf of the WMH executive, parents, supporters, and most importantly, our players, THANK YOU to the MHD committee, to the many volunteers, to the generous supporters, and to our many many fans; without your hard work and support, we could not make this weekend possible.

And, to our players, thank you for your dedication to our organization and for wearing the Monarch logo with pride every time you pull on your jerseys.  Most importantly, thank you, players, for reminding us all what our organization is really all about!!!

See you all next year!!
